Puma v1.06 FG

This cleat from Puma is one of their lightest ones to date, even lighter than its successor: the v1.08. The v1.06 is made with Puma’s special ConTech upper material with microfiber ankle lining for lightness and comfort. This is a thin cleat that is perfect for strikers to beat the defense to the ball and put it into the back if the net. This was one of the most popular pairs of cleats worn in the World Cup 2006 in Germany, and was very popular among the World Champions: The Italian National Team. The extremely thin Puma v1.06 allows for a great deal of speed, due to the low weight. This allows you to streak part defenders and score brilliant goals. The laces are on the side of the cleat to create one of the largest strikezones on the market.

I was wondering which cleat is better, the v1.08 or the .06. In this you say its lighter than the .08 so im kinda confused which one to get. By the way great review and these cleats look sick.

The v1.06 is in fact lighter than the v1.08, and has laces on the side of the shoe for a larger strike zone. other than that the differences are mainly just the color scheme and deciding which color way you like best. However both are superb cleats that are used by the pros today.

One problem the v1.06 had was the front of the cleat was prone to ripping especially on artificial turf. Puma solved this problem with the v1.08’s by reinforcing the most vulnerable areas of the cleat with microfiber. This does indeed ad a little weight but they are still very light.

artificial turf will rip any cleat apart if you do not take care of them by brushig out the little black pellets with a pipe cleaner or old toothbrush. I have these cleats ad they have lasted me two seasons so far and I have play artificial turf pitches almost every other game.

The Puma v1.06 FG are very lite and comfortable. Made for strikers to beat defenders to the ball, this cleat is what one needs in order to speed past players.

I have worn both the 106 and 108 also the 108k. My pair of 106s lasted a few games and training matches. The synthetic got removed from the plastic bottom. The 108s threading came away from the side of the boot unfortunately I had bought a 10.5 so wanted to try the size 10 108k. I look forward to using them in training soon. I have in my possession a pair of 111 kanjis. They’re excellent too.
